Safer Internet Day 2017
This year Safer Internet Day (SID) fell on the 7th February. We had a special assembly looking at how we could make the Internet a better place. Infant children then read the eBook 'Digiduck's Big Decision' and the Juniors completed a 'Diamond 9' on ways that they can make the Internet nicer for everyone.
Safe Searching
These are the safe search engine that we use in school:
Kid Rex (KS1)
Swiggle (KS2)
These search engines are customised google searches. This means that they filter out innapropriate search words or results. Caution is required though as it cannot be 100% guaranteed that all results will be child friendly.

Safer Internet Day 2017
This year the theme was 'Power of Image'. In the Infants we looked at what pictures we could safely share online and what pictures we couldn't safely share online. We decided that pictures that had personal information in them shouldn't be shared online as people could find out about us. In the Juniors we looked at first impressions and how they can form people's opinions of you without them really knowing you. After this we created our own photo album of pictures we would like other people to see of us.
In March 2017 some Year 5 children went to the Barney and Echo Internet Safety Road show. Safer Internet Day 2017 will took place on Tuesday 7th February with the theme 'Be the change: unite for a better internet'.
Hector's World - Class One eSafety
In Class One we have been looking at the Hector's World cartoons. These are fun cartoons let children know the importance of keeping their personal information safe.
Lucy and the Boy - Class 2 eSafety
In Class Two we recently watched this video, it taught us about the dangers of sharing pictures and information on the Internet. We discussed what we should do if this happened to us.
